Extra funding can help small businesses at any time of year. However, the holiday season is often associated with additional costs, and tax season is just around the corner. As a result, small business grants may be especially beneficial at the start of a new year.

Opportunities for Local Small Business Grants to Begin in 2022

Here are a few opportunities to think about in 2022.

Grants for Small Businesses in New Albany

New Albany, Indiana recently approved a new round of Small Business Grant Funding. The city has already provided thousands of dollars in COVID-19 relief funds to more than 43 local businesses. However, the second round of funding provides grants of up to $10,000 to pandemic-affected businesses to cover working capital. Eligible are small businesses with up to 100 employees that are physically located in New Albany. Businesses must submit an application and explain how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted them by January 31.

Small Business Capital Investment Grant Program in Gurnee

Last month, the village of Gurnee, Illinois, launched a small business grant program. The program includes total funding of $250,000, with each qualified business receiving up to $10,000. So far, 17 qualified applicants have applied for the grant program. As a result, nearly half of the $250,000 has been allocated. Grants can be used to improve business infrastructure. In addition, each company must contribute at least half of the funds for each project. As a result, the grant can be used as a match.

Grants from the Colonie Local Development Corporation

The Colonie Local Development Corporation in New York recently announced a $100,000 grant program. The funds are intended for small businesses with ten or fewer employees and two or fewer locations that have suffered financial losses as a result of the pandemic. Grants of up to $5,000 are available. Furthermore, recipients can use the funds to cover unexpected expenses or pandemic-related losses.

Grant for Small Business Recovery in Glynn County

Small businesses in Glynn County, Georgia, can apply for a new grant program to help them recover from the pandemic’s effects. The American Rescue Plan Act provides funding for the grant program. In addition, eligible businesses must be able to demonstrate losses incurred as a result of the pandemic – proof of payment is also required for those seeking reimbursement. Funds can only be used for operating expenses such as payroll and rent, not for new capital projects. Interested businesses in the county can apply online until January 31.

Small Business Resiliency Grant Program of KCK

The KCK Small Business Resiliency Grant Program was recently announced by Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas. For businesses with fewer than 25 employees, grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 are available. The amount is determined by the needs of each business and the qualified matching investment. Businesses can use funds for almost any project that involves the growth or job creation. There are several funding rounds available, with deadlines on April 1 and August 1.

Grant Program for Small Businesses in Brooklyn

The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and Cross River Bank have teamed up to create a $200,000 small business program fund. It is designed specifically to assist small businesses and startups in Brooklyn, with a preference given to women and minority business owners. Each qualified business is eligible to apply for a $5,000 grant that can be used for a variety of business expenses.
